Position Summary:

The role of the Application Support Engineer is to increase the value of Salesforce investments. The position has the responsibility for researching solutions, troubleshooting bugs, and enhancing the functionality of Salesforce to meet business requirements.  The role requires deep expertise in declarative (e.g. Formula Fields) & business process-oriented approaches to Salesforce customization, usage of the AppExchange, mastery of Salesforce Administration, expertise in Community Cloud and solid understanding of CRM concepts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in business concepts for CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote).
  • Technical expertise in configuration and limitations of Salesforce CPQ, formerly Steelbrick CPQ.
  • Solve complex issues using troubleshooting methodologies combined with expert knowledge of Salesforce applications.
  • Resolve and document recurring issues logged by Community Cloud users.
  • Work closely with end users to assess business requirements, support change, and deliver consistently high-quality customer experience.
  • Collaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience and development capabilities to different geographies.
  • Formulate solutions for critical issues with Declarative Tools (Workflows, Approvals, Formulas, etc.).
  • Be a pro-active contributor to a 24/7/365 running support organization, this will require working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Monitoring email regularly, outside standard business hours, will also be necessary.
  • Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the end user experience.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Admin Certification
  • Platform App Builder Certification
  • CPQ Specialist Certification

Education: 

  • Bachelor and/or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of Salesforce CPQ experience in a corporate environment with 2+ years of hands-on experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Salesforce CPQ issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – verbal & written. Ability to communicate at business level with stakeholders and technical level with developers.
  • Practical knowledge of usage of APIs to integrate Salesforce with other data sources.
  • Deep knowledge of Declarative Approaches to Salesforce customization methodologies including Custom Objects, Relationships, Formulas, Validation Rules, and Process Automation.
  • Expertise in customization of Salesforce1 mobile app.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to work effectively from a home-based office in a virtual environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise is process oriented approach to documentation of business operations
  • A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful
  • 2+ Years of Experience in DevOps Environment
