About: Shajith Mohamed Sali is a Salesforce Admin at CloudQ with a unique career journey—from technician and graphic designer to certified Salesforce professional. With multiple certifications and hands-on experience in Flow, CPQ, and Lightning, he thrives on solving business challenges through smart configurations. Shajith is known for being curious, reliable, and always ready to learn something new.
1. Can you share your journey into Salesforce and what motivated you to become a Salesforce Admin?
Before joining CloudQ, I worked as a technician at a signage company, handling machines like flex printers, laser engravers, and paper cutters. In my free time, I observed the graphic designers and gradually learned CorelDraw. Whenever designers were unavailable, I’d step in to help clients with their design needs, and their positive feedback encouraged me to take on dual roles as a technician and designer.
Despite working 12-hour shifts, I seized the opportunity to attend an interview for CloudQ’s internship program. IT was completely new to me. In the beginning, it was tough, but with the guidance of senior team members, I got introduced to Salesforce. I found the Admin role fascinating and gradually fell in love with the platform and its potential. That’s what motivated me to become a Salesforce Admin.
2. What’s a feature or task in Salesforce Admin work that you think deserves more appreciation?
Flow Builder—it’s incredibly powerful. It allows Admins to automate complex business processes without writing any code, giving us near-developer capabilities.
3. What do you enjoy most about supporting teams through smart configurations and streamlined processes in Salesforce?
I love problem-solving. Every team has unique challenges, and solving those through smart configurations feels like cracking a puzzle—one that blends logic, creativity, and business sense.
4. How do you start your workday to stay organized and in control of your org?
I start by checking three things:
1. New tickets received since I logged out the previous day.
2. Tickets due today—I prioritize these.
3. Tickets with new responses—so I can move forward based on user input.
5. When you hit a tough admin challenge—like a tricky Flow or a permission issue—what’s your problem-solving style?
I usually begin by asking, “What changed recently?” That one question often leads to the root of the issue. It’s a simple but effective approach.
6. If you had to describe your Salesforce admin style in just three words, what would they be?
Curious, strategic, reliable.
7. Tell us about a memorable admin project or update you handled and what made it stand out.
Budget Saudi was my first Salesforce client project, and it was full of learning. One of the key challenges was integrating Salesforce with Oracle. While the build and testing took only a few days, it solved a months-long pain point for the client.
8. What part of your day-to-day admin work gives you that “this is why I love this job” feeling?
It’s when users have an “aha” moment—like seeing insights in a custom report or dashboard I built and saying, “Wow, I didn’t know I could view this!” Their appreciation is always rewarding.
9. Do you have a quote, saying, or mindset that keeps you motivated when juggling multiple requests?
“You don’t have to do everything at once. Just do the next right thing.”
10. If you could work from anywhere in the world while managing your Salesforce org, where would it be and why?
Anywhere outside my usual zone, as long as there’s high-speed internet. A change in environment gives me a fresh perspective and helps me think more globally about users, time zones, and diverse work styles.
11. What’s one surprising skill or hobby you have outside of work that your coworkers might not know about?
Logo designing—it boosts my creativity, and I feel proud seeing my designs being used by friends and family for their businesses.
12. If you had to swap jobs with anyone for a day—inside or outside tech—who would it be and why?
A butcher! I’m a fan of Salt Bae—his style, confidence, and presentation are just cool.
13. What’s your go-to way to relax or have fun on weekends after a week of dashboards, users, and Flows?
Heading to the beach helps reset my mind. If I’m staying in, I’m usually spending time playing or doing small stunts with my kids.
14. Who’s had the biggest influence on your Salesforce journey, and what’s a lesson from them you still carry?
A former CTO who interviewed me for my first role. He gave me a chance to enter IT and advised me to keep learning and stay updated—advice I still follow.
15. How do you celebrate a successful Salesforce release or when everything runs smoothly after a big change?
Either a coffee upgrade or logging off a bit early to give my brain a break. Small wins deserve small treats.
16. What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting their career as a Salesforce Admin?
Being a Salesforce Admin is about growing into your strengths. Don’t just learn the how; understand the why behind every business request. Admins who think like problem-solvers, not just button-clickers, go far.
