1. Can you share your journey and what inspired you to become a Sr. Software Quality Analyst?
Testing wasn’t my initial career goal after completing engineering. During my campus placement, I was assigned to a testing project at HCL. I became fascinated with finding critical bugs, and it was addictive to identify and resolve issues. Client appreciation emails further boosted my confidence. After 5+ years at HCL, I took a break after my first child, but my passion for work didn’t let me stay idle. That’s when CloudQ (Soquetek) came into my life, and I’ve been with them for nearly 7 years, learning and growing every day.
2. What’s one aspect of your expertise in software quality that most clients or teams might not know but should?
Domain knowledge and strong communication skills are critical to my success in testing.
3. What do you enjoy most about ensuring the quality of software solutions for businesses?
I enjoy the structured processes we follow to deliver quality products that meet client requirements. A lack of process affects the output, but with clear guidelines, the work becomes seamless and rewarding.
4. How do you start your day to ensure a productive and focused mindset for testing and analysis?
At the end of each day, I prepare a list for the next day’s tasks. This helps me stay organized and ensures I don’t miss anything.
5. When faced with challenges during software testing, do you prefer a proactive or reflective approach?
A proactive approach works best. Planning ahead—knowing when, what, and how to test—helps avoid major issues later.
6. If you could describe your quality assurance style in three words, what would it be?
Understanding requirements, finding bugs, and documenting.
7. Can you tell us about a particularly complex project you’ve worked on and how you ensured the software met all quality standards?
The residential programs I’m currently working on are quite complex. However, they offer great learning opportunities in the retail domain, which keeps me motivated and focused on quality.
8. What aspect of your work as a Sr. Software Quality Analyst energizes you the most?
Delivering a high-quality product to the client motivates me to thoroughly test and ensure the best results.
9. Do you have a favorite mantra or quote that keeps you motivated during challenging testing phases?
“Anything new seems difficult at first, but once mastered, it becomes easier than you imagined.”
10. If you could work from anywhere in the world as a Sr. Software Quality Analyst, where would it be and why?
My home. CloudQ’s work-from-home option allows me to balance my professional and personal life effortlessly.
11. What’s a non-work-related skill or hobby that you’re proud of, and how does it influence your professional approach to quality assurance?
Art helps me de-stress, and when stress is reduced, the quality of my work improves significantly.
12. How do you prefer to celebrate a successful software release or a big professional milestone?
I treat myself to a cup of ice cream for every milestone, big or small.
13. If you weren’t a Sr. Software Quality Analyst, what other profession do you think you’d excel in?
I would have started my own art and craft business.
14. Who has had the biggest impact on your career, and what’s the most valuable advice they’ve given you?
Yaser has greatly impacted my career by giving me the opportunity to work from home. His advice to “update yourself” is something I always follow.
15. Do you have any evening routines or rituals to unwind after a busy day of testing and analysis?
A small, refreshing conversation with my family at the end of the day helps me unwind.
16. What advice would you give to someone just starting as a Sr. Software Quality Analyst?
Enjoy what you do, and the rest will fall into place.
