Razick is a versatile professional with an inspiring journey that spans continents, industries, and a variety of roles. From his beginnings as a Mechanical Engineer to becoming a Director at CloudQ, his career has been nothing short of remarkable. With experience in operations, sales, and strategic leadership across Dubai, Australia, and India, Razick embodies adaptability and resilience. Currently, at CloudQ in Trivandrum, he leads with a focus on innovation, growth, and people empowerment.  

1. Can you share a bit about your professional journey that led you to the role of Director at CloudQ?  

Razick: My journey has been a mix of learning, adapting, and taking risks. I started as a timekeeper in a car workshop in Dubai. It may not sound glamorous, but it taught me a lot about managing people and the importance of delivering on time. Then I moved into sales as an Account Executive with P&G, which exposed me to the dynamics of marketing and client management.  

Later, I became a Sales and Plant Manager with Geraldton Mines Australia (GMA), operating across Dubai, Geraldton, and Perth. Those years were instrumental in understanding global business practices. I also co-founded and led companies like Surface Preparation Solutions, Technologies FZC, Middle East Garnet, and Abrasive FZLLC, focusing on manufacturing and operations.  

Now, at CloudQ, I bring all those lessons together to drive results and foster innovation. It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I wouldn’t trade any part of it.  

2. What do you find most rewarding about your work at CloudQ?  

Razick: At CloudQ, what excites me most is the opportunity to see how our solutions transform businesses. It’s not just about delivering a project; it’s about creating value. I also love mentoring my team, sharing my experiences, and learning from their perspectives. Seeing my team grow and achieve their goals is incredibly fulfilling.

3. How do you like to start your day to set yourself up for success?  

Razick: My day always starts with reviewing my “To Do” list. It’s a simple practice, but it helps me prioritize and stay focused. I also make sure to have some quiet time to reflect and set intentions for the day ahead.

4. What’s your go-to strategy for staying productive amid your many responsibilities?  

Razick: Productivity comes down to clarity and communication. I plan out tasks, ensure they align with timelines, and collaborate with my team to explore better solutions. Listening to others and being open to ideas keeps everyone motivated and reduces pressure on me.

5. Would you describe yourself as an early bird or a night owl? How does this influence your work routine?  

Razick: I’m definitely an early bird. Starting the day early gives me a fresh mind and the time to think creatively. Morning meetings, in particular, are more productive—there’s something about that fresh energy that leads to better brainstorming.

6. Which personality trait or behavior do you believe has been most pivotal to your success, and why?  

Razick: I’d say being communicative, flexible, and resilient. Being open to communication creates an environment where people feel heard and valued. Flexibility helps me adapt to challenges, and resilience allows me to stay strong, especially during setbacks.

7. What was your first job, and how did it impact your career trajectory?  

Razick: My first job was as a timekeeper in a car workshop. It was all about managing people and meeting delivery timelines. That job laid the foundation for everything I do today—whether it’s project management or client satisfaction, those early lessons have stayed with me.

8. What aspects of your role keep you energized and motivated?  

Razick: It’s the combination of empowering others; contributing to the company’s growth; and fostering a friendly, open work environment. I also find motivation in seeing how my work directly impacts the success of the team and our clients.

9. What has been the most surprising or unexpected aspect of working at CloudQ?  

Razick: Honestly, the multitasking. You’d think working across varied technologies and industries would be overwhelming, but it’s incredibly energizing. It has taught me the importance of balance and recognition.

10. Could you briefly outline your key responsibilities and focus areas as a Director at CloudQ?  

Razick: My responsibilities range from setting the company’s strategic direction to managing client relationships and ensuring top-notch service delivery. I also focus on fostering innovation, driving business development, and building a collaborative culture.

11. Having been with CloudQ for a while, what continues to keep you inspired and motivated?  

Razick: The ever-evolving nature of technology and the chance to work with such a talented team keep me inspired. Seeing our solutions make a tangible difference for our clients motivates me to push boundaries further.

12. How do you drive results and maintain alignment between your department’s goals and the company’s overall objectives?  

Razick: It’s all about clarity. I ensure the team understands the bigger picture, set measurable goals, and monitor progress regularly. Collaboration and feedback are also key to staying aligned and driving results.

13. What trends do you see as shaping your field or impacting your role over the next five years?  

Razick: The rise of AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity are definitely going to play a major role. Cloud adoption will also grow, and staying ahead of these trends will be critical for us.  

14. What advice would you give to professionals aspiring to take on leadership roles?  

Razick: Leadership is about communication, adaptability, and continuous learning. Always be open to feedback, stay resilient in the face of challenges, and never stop improving yourself.  

15. How do you prefer to wrap up your day and reflect on your accomplishments?  

Razick: I end my day by reviewing what I’ve achieved, noting what needs improvement, and planning for the next day. It helps me stay grounded and ready for what’s next.

16. Who has had the most influence on your approach to leadership and work, and in what way?  

Razick: Over the years, I’ve been influenced by leaders who valued integrity, empathy, and strategic thinking. These qualities have shaped how I lead and approach my work every day.
