Get to Know: Suhail A M - Senior Salesforce Functional Consultant at CloudQ

About: Suhail A M is a Senior Salesforce Functional Consultant at CloudQ, specializing in analyzing business requirements and designing innovative solutions tailored to each organization’s unique needs. He holds a degree from St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering. With extensive experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects from inception to completion, Suhail ensures successful outcomes by aligning technical solutions with business objectives. His expertise has garnered client praise for his dedication and application of leading Salesforce features to address business challenges.

1. Can you share your journey and what led you to become a Salesforce Functional Consultant/Project Manager?

My journey began at CloudQ as an intern, stepping into the world of CRM with no prior experience, and coming from a mechanical engineering background made it an exciting challenge. Learning everything from scratch was tough, but during training, I discovered a strong interest in business analysis. Over time, I gravitated toward Salesforce because of its flexibility, scalability, and the tangible impact it has on businesses. I enjoy bridging the gap between technical solutions and business needs, which naturally led me to become a Salesforce Functional Consultant.

2. What’s something unique about you that most people wouldn’t guess but plays a big role in your success?

Success, for me, comes from truly listening to customers and staying proactive with followups. Understanding a customer’s needs beyond the technical side makes all the difference. While I have a strong analytical mindset, I also enjoy creative problem-solving. Many assume Salesforce is purely technical, but the best solutions often come from thinking outside the box and finding intuitive ways to make things work.

3. What’s the most fulfilling part of helping businesses implement and optimize Salesforce?

What I love most is seeing the real impact—whether it’s automating tedious tasks, improving customer service, or helping executives make smarter decisions with better data. Beyond that, it’s about making their day-to-day work easier and even driving business growth. I also enjoy guiding customers to truly utilize Salesforce’s capabilities rather than letting valuable features go to waste. At the end of the day, partnering with CloudQ means more than just receiving a service, it’s also about experiencing real solutions and lasting value.

4. How do you usually start your mornings to set a positive tone for the day?

I start with a quick check-in on priorities and any urgent client messages, which helps me get a clear picture of what needs my attention; I then review pending backlogs; and I assign tasks to team members to keep things moving smoothly.

5. Are you someone who dives right into challenges or takes a moment to reflect before acting?

It depends on the situation. If it’s something I’ve handled before, I trust my instincts and dive right in. For more complex challenges, I take a step back, assess all the moving pieces, and determine the best course of action. Every challenge is a learning experience, and those lessons help me navigate future obstacles more effectively.

6. If you had to describe your working style in three words, what would they be?

Proactive, customer-focused, and—definitely—a night owl. I tend to dive in and keep going until the job is done.

7. What’s a memorable project or experience that taught you something valuable about collaboration or problem-solving?

There have been many instances where we had to push back on customer requests because they weren’t feasible—without damaging the relationship or risking the engagement. One memorable project involved working with a media company that required collaboration with multiple vendors, none of whom were particularly responsive. We had to engage strategically to keep things moving. Another involved cross-functional teamwork to meet a client’s needs when a standard process wouldn’t work. These experiences taught me the importance of adaptability, decision-making, and strong communication in problem-solving.

8. What keeps you energized and motivated throughout your workday?

A good cup of coffee, the energy of my team, and the excitement of solving challenges, but what truly motivates me is seeing the impact of our work and hearing positive feedback from customers.

9. Do you have a go-to mantra or philosophy that helps you stay focused and positive?

Whatever happens, keep things moving. Every challenge has a solution; it’s just a matter of figuring it out and pushing forward.

10. If you could work from anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

As long as there’s a solid Wi-Fi connection, I can work from anywhere—a cozy coffee shop, a peaceful beach, or even the mountains.

11. What’s a personal skill, hobby, or interest that you’re proud of, and how does it influence your approach to life?

I love figuring things out—whether it’s solving a technical problem or understanding a new concept. Traveling is another big passion. Immersing myself in different cultures, meeting new people, and gaining fresh perspectives have all shaped how I approach both work and life.

12. How do you like to celebrate personal or professional milestones?

By taking a break; going on a trip; and most importantly, celebrating with the people who helped make it happen.

13. If you weren’t a Salesforce Functional Consultant/Project Manager, what other career or passion might you pursue?

Probably a mechanical engineer or a network engineer.

14. Who has made the biggest impact on your personal or professional growth, and what’s the best advice they’ve given you?

After joining CloudQ, my first reporting managers, Saddam and Niyas, played a huge role in my growth. They pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, learn new things, and navigate challenges with confidence. They didn’t just teach me the technical side, they helped me understand the bigger picture, weighing the pros and cons of every decision. Their guidance truly shaped the professional I am today.

15. What’s your favorite way to unwind or recharge after a busy day?

A good meal and a nap.

16. If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Push yourself to learn and embrace every opportunity. If an organization allows you to grow, make the most of it; because one day, that knowledge will pay off in ways you never expected.
