Can you tell us about yourself and your journey to becoming the Director of HR Operations?

My journey to becoming a Director of HR Operations began with early roles that shaped my professional foundation. I started as a Sales Manager, transitioned to an Administrative Assistant at Trakshya Computer Solutions Inc., and later worked as a Customer Service Assistant at Tesco Plc in London. In 2015, I joined Syrainfotek LLC (now known as CloudQ), where I gained valuable experience across sales, administration, customer service, and HR operations. In 2019, I moved into my current role as Director of HR, where I’ve been able to leverage my diverse experience to drive HR initiatives and strategies.

What do you enjoy most about working with CloudQ?

What I enjoy most is the sense of fulfillment I get from knowing that my work contributes directly to the company’s success. It’s a powerful motivator that keeps me engaged.

How do you typically start your day to set the tone for success?

I begin my day by prioritizing tasks, responding to urgent emails, and setting clear goals. Though I ease into the day slowly, I become more productive as the day progresses.

What’s your go-to productivity strategy for managing the complexities of your role?

I break down complex tasks into smaller, manageable pieces and focus on one task at a time. I often find that I hit a productive stride late at night.

Are you an early bird or a night owl, and how does that influence your work routine?

I’m definitely a night owl. The quiet hours in the evening help me focus and allow me to produce some of my best work.

Which behavior or personality trait do you believe has been most critical to your success, and why?

Adaptability and strong communication skills have been key to my success in HR operations. They help me manage diverse challenges and connect effectively with teams.

What was your first job, and how did it shape your career in HR?

My role as an Administrative Assistant at Trakshya Computer Solutions Inc. laid the groundwork for my HR career. It taught me the importance of attention to detail, organizational skills, and supporting internal teams—core elements of effective HR work.

What aspects of your role energize you the most?

I’m energized by developing and implementing HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at CloudQ?

One thing that surprised me was how crucial it is to stay current with changing regulations and labor laws in the HR field.

Could you provide a brief overview of your responsibilities as the Director of HR Operations?

As Director of HR Operations, I oversee HR processes, develop strategic initiatives, manage immigration-related tasks, and ensure that HR practices align with organizational goals.

Having been with the company for some time, what keeps you motivated and inspired?

Seeing the positive impact of our HR efforts on employee satisfaction and overall business performance keeps me motivated and inspired.

As the Director of HR Operations, how do you drive organizational results and align HR initiatives with company goals?

I align HR strategies with company goals by focusing on initiatives that truly matter—those that improve employee experience, performance, and business outcomes.

What trends do you see shaping Human Resource Operations over the next five years?

Emerging trends include AI-powered recruitment tools, a stronger emphasis on employee well-being programs, and a continued focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

What advice would you give to aspiring HR professionals who want to excel in HR operations?

Stay curious, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and keep up with evolving industry trends to remain effective and impactful.

How do you prefer to end your workday?

I usually wrap up my work late at night, after a productive session. I then take some time to unwind and mentally prepare for the next day.

My approach has been shaped by HR thought leaders who emphasize empathy, adaptability, and strategic thinking—qualities that are essential in today’s HR landscape.
