Get to Know: Jowin Leo

Hello, and welcome to another “Get to Know” post, where you’ll learn all about members of the staff here at CloudQ. These people may be your coworkers, or you may just be someone who’s curious about our culture. Come ride along on this journey which will help you learn many wonderful things about Jowin and help you see him as the cool person he is. He’s a fun guy to be around, and his teammates in marketing enjoy having him on board.

Jowin Leo has worked as an SEO Manager at CloudQ for the past two years. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Noorul Islam University.

What do you enjoy most about working with CloudQ?

The most enjoyable part of working with the company is the freedom to choose my path of work to attain results. CloudQ has given the space, freedom, and availability of all the senior managers and team members to help anytime with stuff related to content or SEO.

How do you prefer to start your day?

I start my day on a positive note. I always like to visualize how my day will be and how I can complete my tasks. As we have a saying “fake it till you make it,” I believe it’s important to visualize the outcomes of your actions to get the desired results. It’s kind of my mantra. In general, also, I always visualize my life goals and try to work towards achieving them.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

I believe if you do your work with full effort and honesty the results will be what you want. Also, I believe you reap what you sow. If you send out good deeds, you get good results and vice versa. So, I am always careful enough to do my part most positively and expect positive results.

I also have a to-do list to complete the tasks and break down the complicated tasks into smaller ones. I also set a time frame to complete each task. So, this helps me to remain productive.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

To be honest, I am a night owl. At night, I feel more patient and do my work better. If necessary, I can work to my fullest potential any time of the day.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

I think patience is a very important virtue that has helped me achieve my success. I always believe in doing the right thing and wait for the results, which will eventually happen at the right time.

What was your first job?

I started as an SEO analyst at a company named RYTEFIX, and I learned a lot related to my profession from there, especially from the CEO.

What energizes you at work?

Whenever I feel down I watch videos of Elon Musk and Jack Ma Yun to feel motivated and energized in life. I also feel excited whenever I can get the desired results when I apply the tricks and SEO strategy for the company. I learn these tricks and strategies through my competitor research.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at CloudQ?

The freedom I have to do my job to receive the desired result. The flexibility and helpful nature of the team have also surprised me.

Would you mind giving a brief overview of your job here at CloudQ?

I came to know about CloudQ through a friend, Ann. She was the old marketing coordinator at CloudQ. She briefed me about CloudQ, and I got to work with CloudQ. When I started my position here at CloudQ, I realized many things related to digital marketing were not happening in the right way. I had to rehash everything related to SEO and start from scratch. I tried to put everything into order, did all the new strategies required, and have been seeing good results.

What does an SEO manager do?

We manage a team, manage content, and manage SEO and social media marketing. We need to maintain a proper schedule for every SEO strategy and handle clients explaining the SEO strategies.

As an SEO manager how will [you] drive results?

To be honest, we cannot drive results all alone or in a short period. The SEO manager needs to coordinate with the team and communicate the requirements consistently to achieve good results. Also, competitor analysis is very important.

What skills do you need to be an SEO professional?

I think you need to be conscious of link building and different kinds of optimization. You need to have in-depth research and analytical skills of your competitors and be a great team player. You need to have a clear idea about black hat and white hat SEO.

What certification courses have you done related to your job profile?

I have completed my SEO Strategy Course, SEO & Copywriting Made Simple course from Undemy. I am a Certified Content Marketer and have Google Ads fundamental Certification Etc.

What are your favorite SEO tools?

Semrush, Screaming Frog, Smallseotools, and SEO are all about practicing again and again.

What types of content do you think would work well for our company?

It’s all about the niche the company works in. If you are a cloud service company, you need to write content related to those and the content which answers the questions of the queries the audience will have. All kind needs to show what a company can offer the audience through tier services. Content needs to be informative and understandable.

How do you prefer to end your day?

I check my to-do list and check to see if the tasks are completed or not. I also flag uncompleted tasks and prepare the checklist for the next day.

Are you a coffee or a tea person?

I do not prefer coffee or tea. I normally like to stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water and also love to drink lemon or fruit juice.
